Hardware Engineer
Position Details:
Job Overview:
As a Hardware Engineer at Aeronix, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing hardware components and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, electrical engineers, and product managers, to bring cutting-edge products to market. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with a strong background in hardware design, testing, and troubleshooting. Your primary work location will be our Greenville, SC satellite office. Travel will be limited to a few times a year at most.
Responsibilities:
Hardware Design and Development:
- Support requirements/feasibility analysis and perform development board prototype evaluation
- Design and develop hardware components, including PCBs, circuits, and systems, in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware with software and other components.
- Perform component and/or custom circuit design research (e.g., RF clocks, amplifiers and filters as well as digital processing FPGA/ARM processor and memory interfaces, etc.)
- Design PCB layout and release designs for fabrication/assembly
Prototyping and Testing:
- Create prototypes for hardware components and conduct thorough testing to validate design concepts.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware-related issues, implementing solutions to ensure optimal performance.
- Power up and test newly assembled PCBs; identify and correct performance problems
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed documentation of hardware designs, testing procedures, and outcomes.
- Work with the documentation team to create user manuals and technical documentation for hardware products.
- Generate schematics and PCB netlist
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with software engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to product development.
- Participate in design reviews and provide valuable input to improve overall product quality.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, providing technical support and career development advice.
- Conduct training sessions and share best practices for hardware design and troubleshooting.
- Review junior engineers’ work and provide constructive feedback.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that hardware designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and other relevant guidelines.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Ten to twenty years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical background in digital board design and layout
- Proven experience in hardware design, development, and testing.
- Proficient in using design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
- Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and other embedded systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
